to tone the biceps and the shoulders and the upper body in general for a woman, how much should each hand-weight weigh (in kg)? I’ve always wanted to know the answer to this question and also how often should i do a weights workout? Thank u

It all depends upon how many reps you can do with your normal, general strength. For example, if you can fairly easily perform 12-15 reps with perfect form and technique, as a general rule you should add around 5 pounds to the resistance. This way you are keeping your sets around 12 reps when doing your maximum weight.
There is little, to no benefit from performing sets of excersizes with too light of a weight (unless it is a quick warmup set to get loose).
