Linux Mint Debian 201012 64bit Install on AMD Laptop Review Tutorial
Review of Linux Mint Debian 201012 64bit & How-to Install Tutorial on AMD Athlon64 x2 Compaq Laptop. This is a Live Action video rather than a Screencast. “What a better time than Christmas to bring all the best from 2010 into an updated release of Linux Mint ‘Debian’. All Mint 10 features; 64-bit support; performance boost (using cgroup, the notorious ’4 lines of code better than 200′ in user-space); installer improvements (multiple HDDs, GRUB install on partitions, swap allocation, Btrfs support); better fonts (using Ubuntu’s libcairo, fontconfig and Ubuntu Font Family) and language support; better connectivity and hardware support; better sound support (addressing conflicts between Pulse Audio and Flash); updated software and packages” More info or download: blog.linuxmint.com Original video production by the www.OSGUI.com Tech Show.

@lmull3 hehe yeah I knew it would be…. ;-) cheers thanks for the info on the package names mate
I simplly wanted to make a point and also not to make the video go for more than 10 minutes…. how much longer would it have been if i showed how to install those drivers… hehe but maybe i should make another video but i dont think i can be bothered

Is this installer a Gnome app, like Ubiquity? It sounds like this distro release is Gnome 2.30. I wonder if the installer will work with Orca screen reader? Re: your Broadcom driver, maybe you can find it in Synaptic?

@wx1gdave yeah I assume so
im not sure about the screen reader sorry

JonathanIsrael708 on January 13, 2011 at 3:51 pm
@OSGUIShow ahh ok.. Was just asking, because everyone has done overviews of Mint Debian but no one has done a follow up of how it was for daily use.
TuxNoBux on January 14, 2011 at 12:06 am
@UslennoX what wireless card do have & also whats your router brand
it could be your wireless card were it was designed for windows & not linux you could just buy another card & see if that works it should anyway when you connect you need to enter your internet password to connect to
your router not your routers

I’ll give you thumbs up, but the problem with these vids is that it never gives you some specific info. Imagine watching 100 vids and 100 simple advices, like how to set up you partitions, which font to use, sudo sensors-detect + xsensors…
OSGUIShow on February 26, 2011 at 10:10 am
@nikiss8 cheers
