when i press the display button on the camera it does not preview any images

however when i connect it to the pc i can see them all , what it is the problem???

I’m looking at digital cameras such as Canon PowerShot SX230HS. I like the idea of a camera with good zoom, stablization, battery life, image quality, video with sound quality, etc. GPS could be handy.

Is this a good choice. Which other Canon or Nikon or Sony or major brand models are a better choice?

I’m not clear about the batteries or the memory cards.

Amazon has a package deal with 16GB for 8. My target is under 0 with memory and battery, but I could go higher if there was significant feature/performance difference.

i am interested in photography. there is no target area at this moment like wild life or sports etc, though i am nature lover and i love wild life also but its too far for me to advance towards that. i want to make a good start. but before that i am looking for a good camera which can help me now and later on also.
at this moment. i have clear two options to go
first either digital camera or directly onto digital SLR.

I am looking for a slim pocket digital camera but I would love for it to have the following features:

1. viewfinder (this is a must as I cannot always see well through LCD screens).

2. decent Optical Zoom capabilities (digital zoom is fine too but would like some optical zoom as it’s superior).

3. capabilities to take video/sound recording.

4. capabilities to shoot photo after photo without a lot of delay.

I’ve been researching cameras with my husband for an upcoming holiday and each time we see one we like, we end up finding something we don’t like about it or negative reviews. We just want a decent compact, stylish camera if this is possible. The viewfinder problem is especially annoying to us as viewfinders conserve batteries much better than LCD screen and they are easier to see through.

I hope someone will have some good suggestions for us :-)

okay so i need a good digital camera.

ive been looking at nikon coolpix cameras, they seem good? However there are so many options that searching for camera reviews for each one is overwhelming. I dont need a proffessional grade camera and I would like the price to stay under 280 dollars. I want it to have good picture quality, but most of all I would really like a camera with little or no shutter lag. I guess I want a nikon coolpix, but if there is a different camera that would fit my criteria PLEASE let me know, i dont really care about the brand.

so i want a camera with
-little or no shutter lag
-good picture quality
-under 280 dollars, if possible
