8 Min Abs Workout, how to have six pack: this workout has been designed to specifically work on the abdominal area. It can be done by anyone who exercises regularly, both men and women. There are no particular requirements for this module; you just need to know how to do the various exercises properly. 3 Good reasons for doing this module: 1 – Working aerobically on your abdominal muscles for over 7 minutes stimulates the capillaries in this area. @yehnunoy You want to exhale on the concentric contraction and inhale on the eccentric contraction so when you sit up exhale and when you come down in inhale.

@yehnunoy exhale as you contract, inhale on the way down or back to starting position…..you increase you chance for hernias by breathing wrong doing any exercise

@yehnunoy Inhale when you “prepare” to do a rep, and exhale when you perform the rep. Therefore exhaling when you contract.

@yehnunoy It’s preferable to exhale when you are exerting pressure ( usually during contraction). This helps alleviate the pressure that builds up as you ‘push’. Hope this helps.

@yehnunoy I’m pretty sure you exhale when you crunch your abs..ie exhale when you lift your head up or whatever, and then inhale as you go down.
I may be wrong though.

I was always taught that you should never place your hands behind your head whilst doing crunches as it causes damage to your neck. Anyone else know if this statement is true or false? Because I prefer doing it with my hands behind my head but stopped when given this information.
